You will not be asked to provide any credit card or payment information until checkout.
If you’re an Owner, you will not be required to enter any payment information at this time unless you would also like to rent through Eligo Cars. For Owners, we only need a PayPal account so we can send you your earnings.
To list your car on Eligo, your car needs to meet our eligibility requirements. You must have valid car insurance and must also satisfy our MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS.

Only cars that are registered in Canada are eligible to be listed on Eligo. The vehicle must be no older than ten years, have fewer than 200,000 km/130,000 miles and be valued at no more than $500,000.00.
If you have a classic car with a model year older than 1991, you are also welcomed to list it!
The vehicles listed on Eligo must be in working order (e.g. working seat belts, no faults), have a clean title and be in excellent condition.

To list your electric car, you need to register it just like any other car. However, it’s very important that you make it clear in the car’s description that it is an electric vehicle to avoid cancellations due to misunderstandings.
After a trip is booked, please make sure to communicate details about the charge duration, how to charge and any other special features of your car.
Your electric vehicle must be at least 80% charged before you hand it off to the driver.
You may rent out your car anywhere in Ontario, Canada!
Please be aware that some drivers may want to take your car on a road trip to the US (we do not allow trips to Mexico). Drivers are required to disclose their trip information to owners at booking.
Yes, to temporarily disable your listing all you must do is go to "My Garage", access "Edit your listing" and mark it as "Unlisted". This will remove it from searches and category pages, you can edit the listing and unmark "unlisted" at any time to re-enable your listing.
Owners decide how many kilometers are included for each trip and include this information in their listings. If the Driver exceeds the mileage limit, they will be charged for each additional kilometre, at a rate set by the Owner.
Eligo will automatically calculate the cost per kilometer when you list your car. This optimized price is based on your car’s value in the current market.
You set your own price for excess kilometers. You will enter this information under your car’s listing detail page.
Owners may offer to deliver their vehicle to Drivers at the beginning of the trip and pick it up at the end, at locations agreed upon with the Driver.
Drivers are responsible for dropping off the vehicle with at least as much gas (or charge in the case of electric vehicles) as it had at the beginning of the trip.
Drivers should hold on to any gas receipts and both parties should photograph the gas gauge at the start and finish of each trip to avoid confusion.
All car listings on Eligo are based on rates set by the Owner. The Owner may offer a discount for longer trips such as weekly or monthly rental periods. Rates and discounts are detailed in the vehicle listing.
Eligo Service Fee:A fee of 10% of the total trip cost is applied at the time of checkout.
Insurance Fee: All Drivers on Eligo are covered with our mandatory insurance policy provided through Northbridge Insurance which is 15% of your rental fee.
Delivery Fee: You may request a delivery of the vehicle to your desired location, and pickup from a location at the end of your trip. The delivery fee will vary in cost.
Taxes: Any applicable taxes are applied at checkout.
The Owner will accept and confirm your trip once you book it. If they do not confirm within 8 hours your trip will be automatically canceled and you will be free to book another trip. We will notify you once the Owner confirms and you’re good to go.
Pick up and Drop Off details are set by the Driver and Owner. We encourage you to communicate with one another to determine the most convenient times and places.
At the time of pickup, the Owner will review and confirm the Driver’s driver’s licence.
Next, the Driver and the Owner will review the car’s condition using the Eligo Pick Up Checklist. They will take photos to document any pre-existing damage, mileage and the fuel level.
At the time of Drop Off, the Owner and Driver will fill in the Eligo Drop Off Checklist.
With Eligo you may have the option of having the Owner deliver the car to you at the beginning of your trip and picking it up at the end of your trip. Vehicles that are eligible for delivery and pick up will be listed as "available for delivery". The listing will also show the maximum distance that the Owner is willing to drive in order to deliver and pick up the car as well as the delivery fee.
Included mileage is the number of kilometers the Driver may drive during their trip, set by the Owner. If you exceed this limit, you will be charged for each additional kilometer driven.

Keep in mind that electric cars can feel a little different at first if you’ve never driven one before. Once you find an electric car that you like on Eligo make sure you talk to the Owner about these important details:
It’s a good idea to plan and map out charge stations before starting a trip. That way you won’t risk running out of charge.
Owners set the maximum driving distance for their vehicle. You will find this information on the vehicle listing. Please check the mileage allowance and make sure that it will be enough for your planned trip ahead of booking.
Driver’s licence holders of other countries can also become a part of the Eligo community, if they meet the eligibility requirements. To become a member, you need to provide photos of your driver’s licence and/or passport, depending on your country.
If you’re using a non-Canadian payment card, please contact your bank ahead of booking the trip and make sure that your card is authorized for an international charge. If your card is not authorized for international use, it may be declined and delay or interfere with your booking.
Please keep in mind that with Eligo, you’re renting a personal vehicle and the Owner expect you to take care of their car as if it were your own. You don’t have to have the car professionally cleaned but please make sure that you return the car is in the same condition in which it was received.
If the car is returned in poor condition, the Owner has the option to charge a cleaning fee. (Please see Eligo Cars Cleaning and Damage Policy).
